A new spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of ascorbic acid with bromocresol purple in pharmaceutical samples

Abstract Based on the interaction between ascorbic acid and bromocresol purple, a new simple, straightforward, quick method for quantification of is proposed. The procedure based determined quenching effect natural fluorescence signal purple in reaction phosphate buffer solution (pH 6). reduction intensity detected at 641 nm, while excitation occurs 318 nm. linear relationship reduced concentration range 4.65 × 10 –5 to –6 mol L −1 (R 2 = 0.9964), with detection limit 8.77 –7 2.35 . findings this study further show that provides good precision repeatability, as well satisfactory recovery values terms accuracy. tested fifteen samples different amounts additional components. effects interfering components such citrus bioflavonoids, citric acid, folic paracetamol, calcium, magnesium carbonate are also investigated. bioflavonoids (routine hesperidin), results iodometric titration point out effective determination pharmaceutical samples.
